Winter.
White Landscape
By December, the darkness of the polar night has settled on Simo, but the snow gives the surroundings a festive glow.
December 21 or 22 (date changes annually) is the shortest day of the year when the sun barely rises. Following Christmas, the focus turns to New Year’s Eve when daylight barely begins to increase.
This period lasts from January-February and is considered the heart of winter. With only a few hours of daylight, a rather mysterious mood of calm settles over the landscape. During winter, nature conserves its energy: so should it be with us humans.
We should let our energy flow inward and come to rest. If you join us during this phase, you will be able to take pleasure in the warmth of the campfire, cook traditional food by the fire according to the 5 elements, meditate, and perform Qi-Gong and mindfulness exercises to experience deep rest within yourself.
We invite you to immerse yourself in our sauna and hot tub under the starry skies and the ethereal northern lights, followed by Shamanic drumming with acupuncture. Then, in a cosy tipi, you will find yourself falling asleep next to the warm fireplace filled with wood you chopped yourself.
You will also spend many hours with our dogs as your coaching partners and watch how their innate leadership style is tested again and again, both in daily work and in the wide variety of our activities in the brisk winter air.
Usual temperatures: -25°C to -15°C
